writing on the wall ... [a] prayer for the newly fallen in potters field ... by ... i a e ( i am everyone) ... first posted April 11, 2020 @ the ye11ow sub blog (prelude added, with [marker] notations)

Then ... like now ... friends, family, loved ones, newly acquainted, strangers, or passers by ... faced the virus together, but yet alone, with uncertainty and fear. Resolute, none the less, to endure ... hopefully to persevere through all of it. I as did all others. April of 2020 was like a dark night of an ever darkening storm. One like many others that Americans have faced over the history of this country, but yet different ... sadly in every sense of the word. To that moment, I came face-to-face with that newly re-branded nationwide helplessness, as did many others ... as we watched loved ones pass before us (U.S.) ... out of touch, out of reach, and without being family blessed or goodbye carried to their final place of rest. Not for evermore ... clearly marked, clearly named, and clearly dated [from birth to demise] highlighted with profound remembrance by our words, to-be carved everlasting into their final marker for all to see. Then I learned of Potter's Field ... and the all of the above ... plus ... the now never before imagined. So I stopped to think, to wonder thoughts, further pondering writers of the past, present or future, and then wrote down to this page ... these markings ... my words ... of solitary thought, spiritual outreach, or ghostly whisper ... for those, now as then ... left resting ... fully enclosed in unfinished, prairie-book, tumbleweed, pine sentiment.

only god is a witness now to these events
deeds misdeeds negligence malice greed
the missing four comas from above

i am spring
i am summer
i am fall
i am winter
i am you all
i am no other
i am none the less
i am forever reminder
i am no less and never more

a raven watches over all of us
a drone flies over in the sky
no eagle has landed
no flag has been uncovered
no soles have been saluted
no hats have been removed

only workers prodded to be busy
only grace to be song
only lunch will be breaking
from dusk until dawn

in the distance a fog horn is sounding
as the water ripples past
another barge is here for docking

what was present, it now just past
while god saved the queen, no god came to save us

Send me an angel from Montgomery
[fellow] tunemeister John Prine ...
for one i [a fan] know you are not [buried] here
[likewise, you know] it was a four way stop dilemma
[... and] ... it went around and around [and around ...].

i am the potter in the field
i am the drop in the rain
i am the cool in the wind
i am the ocean breeze
i am the sum of all totals
i am the lost and found
i am the trash and the recycle
i am the mud and the earth
[and the dust and the dirt]
i was the body in an ice truck
an asterisk in search of a location
[i am we, the who and the ...]
what ... in the many pine boxes.
