Republicans throw 'absolute fit' that DOJ isn't biased enough in their favor ...

Jun 20, 2023 - MSNBC - Alicia Menendez looks at the litany of ways Donald Trump has been treated with deference by the DOJ special counsel and given every accommodation possible while the Trump-appointed prosecutor in the Hunter Biden case has maintained meticulous independence from Merrick Garland and the Biden administration, but still Republicans were livid that the Justice Department did not show greater bias toward the anti-Biden narrative they've been pushing with Rupert Murdoch media outlets to their voting base.

Underwater noises heard in frantic search for submersible with 5 aboard missing near Titanic ...

Jun 21, 2023 - KTLA 5 - A Canadian military surveillance aircraft has detected underwater noises as a massive search continued early Wednesday in a remote part of the North Atlantic for a submersible that vanished while taking five people down to the wreck of the Titanic.

A statement from the U.S. Coast Guard did not elaborate on what rescuers believed the noises could be, though it offered a glimmer of hope for those lost abroad the Titan as estimates suggest as little as a day's worth of oxygen could be left if the vessel is still functioning.

Meanwhile, questions remain about how teams could reach the lost submersible, which could be as deep as about 12,500 feet (3,800 meters) below the surface near the watery tomb of the historic ocean liner.

Lost aboard the vessel are pilot Stockton Rush, the CEO of the company leading the expedition. His passengers are a British adventurer, two members of a Pakistani business family and a Titanic expert.

KTLA's Samantha Cortese reports on June 20, 2023.

Sub Brief's Aaron Amick reviews the ongoing Oceangate Expedition's Titan Tragedy

Jun 20, 2023 - Sub Brief: Aaron Amick (video play time 20:44) - (Transcript) "Oceangate Expedition lost communication with its deep diving 5-person submarine on June 18th 2023 while transiting submerged to the Titanic wreck site. 5 people onboard were: Stockton Rush, PH Nargeolet, Shahzada Dawood, Suleman Dawood, and Hamish Harding.

In this video I (Sub Brief: Aaron Amick) describe the incident in detail. I review the construction, design and system onboard the Titan. I catalog my concerns about the design and operation of this submarine. This video is my personal opinion with the limited information available to me at the time of this recording. A follow up video will be published when more facts from the investigation surface.

Titan is a Cyclops-class manned submersible designed to take five people to depths of 4,000 meters (13,123 feet) for site survey and inspection, research and data collection, film and media production, and deep sea testing of hardware and software. Through the innovative use of modern materials, Titan is lighter in weight and more cost efficient to mobilize than any other deep diving submersible. A combination of ground-breaking engineering and off-the-shelf technology gives Titan a unique advantage over other deep diving subs; the proprietary Real Time Hull Health Monitoring (RTM) systems provides an unparalleled safety feature that assesses the integrity of the hull throughout every dive. The use off-the-shelf components helped to streamline the construction, and makes it simple to operate and replace parts in the field.

Paired with a patented, integrated launch and recovery platform, Titan is easy to operate in varying sea states using a local appropriately sized ship for the project. In coastal waters this means we do not need a large support ship with a crane or A-frame.
